Bethesda is not developing this title.
"Prime 1 topped SM honestly."
Well, that's your opinion and respectable. But I disagree. (Didn't click on disagree though just so you know)
Here we go again.
"Another reason MGS:R will suck."
Because they're developing a multiplat engine to run a multiplat game instead of forcing an engine developed specifically for one console on every other platform. Yes, that sounds like devs planning to make a crap game.
"Unlike anything ever experienced before"
Sure that's cool, but I also hope it's more like Super Metroid. Nothing against Retro's Prime at all (good series) but no Metroid has yet topped Super Metroid for me personally.
For me, LP was just one of those filler games that's fun for a week and then you're back to your mainstays.
I didn't think it was 'crappy'. Maybe underwhelming compared to its contemporaries.
Didn't disagree with you btw.
I don't think anyone ever disagreed that it was basically Oblivion with guns. It also offers a completely different, detailed setting in the city of decimated DC and other areas.
What's also cool?
The massive f*ck off guns. :D
That's enough for some people and I can't blame them. It may not be as in depth as TES imo, but boy does it feel refreshing to solve your problems with buckshot in an RPG.
@Dragonwarrior: ...And? I might think your GoW is an overrated gorefest and poor imitation of Devil May Cry with silly QTEs. I actually don't feel that way, but I do think it's not as great as it's made out to be just like Halo.
The beauty of it though, is that it doesn't matter what you or I think. JHUX gives some pretty good reasons. It's never as simple as "I don't like it so it shouldn't be popular". I don't like Pokemon either.
*is pelted by thousand...
Monkeys don't have feathers to ruffle.
All I'm saying is you're writing an article with a misleading conclusion. I'm not keen on restating what I just wrote because it's exactly what needs to be said. I hope your next article is a bit more logical.
I dunno. It's not even being worked on apparently. Ask me again in 2010.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on it after a while. I'm still iffy about grabbing it.
Awesome.
Is that Hitler? :s
^^^Well GT IS widely considered the eminent console racer. If you want to topple it you come prepared with more than talk.
Kinda hate when devs resort to this though. There is room for more than one good racer.
And I'm assuming you're Don, DChesney?
And also you're missing my point entirely. This definition you've cobbled together of what it means to be hardcore (50+ hours a week), plainly, is not accurate.
You're using a symptom as a definition. Hardcore gamers might generally play more, but it is the level of interest in gaming that makes you 'hardcore'. It's the difference between a dilettante and an enthusiast. One dabbles while the other has more than a passing interes...
No, it's a generalization. Gotta stop assuming gamers don't have like...jobs or other hobbies. Gamers aren't one-dimensional people.
"You might ask 'Who is The Don to judge?' It’s not me who should do the judging, but rather you judging yourself and realize that you’re spending your time accomplishing nothing in the real world."
Your horse is much too high. It's entertainment. We don't have to 'accomplish' anything when we watch movies, concerts, plays, or ...
Actually the cap was raised from 16, I believe. This is quite typical of a D&D based game. 20 is damn near god-like.
1) The great Capt. Kirk taught me can't go into space and NOT sex the hot alien *salute*
2) Council lives. I know. They annoyed the crap out of me too with the second guessing but I was roleplaying and thought the universe would be better off with them. Or grateful enough to give humans greater influence (they were).
That's what a good RPG does. Forces you to care. *sigh*
I have respect for the devs involved, but I think more involvement from the series creator can only be a good thing. So I hope he's not just pissy because Rising is a spin-off Konami wants from him. While a great reason to be pissy, that energy should go into making the game shine regardless. All in all who gets screwed if it sucks? Gamers do.
^^^Haha. Wtf.
I think it'd be cool to have something like The Force Unleashed. Picking up objects and people from afar and smashing them into things. Build a good game around it.
To be compared to one of the best rated 3PSs this gen should be flattering. I wouldn't consider it an insult for some to describe it as 'PS3's GeoW'. Tecmo doesn't. They admit the similarities, but it'll stand out in the details.
The game isn't even developed by Beth. It's by Splash Damage.
For whatever reasons, the article leaves that out.
Edit: Reading the little quote (I guess it's a quote, there are no quotation marks but it's bolded for some reason) it's supposedly some hide and seek game with the textures. I don't know how far that goes toward 'proving the power' of any platform more than clever devs finding another compromise in order to fudge it.
Brink btw is coming to ...
